SATE '11 Orlando session: Going Beyond the Brand: Turning a Name into a Family Experience
For over 20 years, Jonathan has helped some of the world’s most respected brands successfully bring new products and initiatives to market. A veteran of both new media and popular entertainment, Jonathan Casson brings a wide variety of experience in complimentary industries to the BRC team.
Jonathan began his career in the MTV marketing department and has gone on to work in product marketing for some of the world’s leading brands. At PeopleLink, a technology provider for companies including Oracle, GE, Viacom, NBC, Fox, Universal, and MTV, Jonathan was an early trailblazer in the lucrative realm of social network marketing, and consistently scored high marks helping Fortune 1000 companies launch and grow their online relationships with partners, clients and customers.
After working with Toyota to help the car manufacturer develop a new approach to sales and service training for the launch of the Scion brand, Jonathan was hired as production manager for Drew Carey's groundbreaking animated prime time improv program Drew Carey's Green Screen Show, a follow-up to his successful Whose Line Is It Anyway? series.
Jonathan returned to the online world as the project lead for the business unit of WeddingChannel. If you've ever used an online bridal registry at a major retailer such as Bloomingdales, Macy's, Crate and Barrel, or Tiffany & Co., chances are you worked with a system that Jonathan helped deliver to these top clients. More recently, Jonathan was Product Marketing Director at 3Dsite, an interactive animation studio whose work can be seen at the Disney theme parks.
An honors graduate from the University of Michigan and alumnus of CalArts' prestigious School of Theatre, Jonathan has also directed countless theatrical productions, produced CalArts' first-ever soap opera, and was even a big winner on the legendary MTV game show Remote Control.
