SATE '11 Orlando panel: The Use of Technology to Create a Compelling, Personalized Experience in a Group Environment

Mark Gilicinski is the founder of MobileXpeditions, LLC, a software startup that enables venues and brands to extend their marketing and engagement to mobile phones and tablets. The MX platform can rapidly create and update content rich mobile apps for consumers or an enterprise, and can be licensed. For visitors of a venue or destination, MobileXpeditions delivers location-based experiences including multimedia tours, guides, and games on consumers own mobile phones and tablets.

Recent and current MobileXpeditions projects include:

• iPad Art Tour App on four ships for Celebrity Cruises

• App for the "Passages" exhibition at the Oklahoma City Museum of Fine Arts

• Corporate competitive game event utilizing dozens of iPads and hundreds of players

Mark spent over ten years with Walt Disney Feature Animation in both Burbank and Orlando. While there Mark managed technology teams and supported their proprietary digital production system CAPS. He has screen credit on ten films including: The Lion King, Tarzan, and Lilo & Stitch. He has also worked at Disney Parks and Resorts Online, AOL, Now Software, and the Department of Defense.

He has a B.S. in Computer Science from The Ohio State University and an MBA from The University of Florida. He now resides with his family in Dublin, Ohio.
