Visionary architect John Plumpton joined Forrec in 1995. As a principal in this multi-disciplinary, international design firm, John spearheads all the firm’s entertainment projects.
John’s project management and leadership abilities have been honed by planning and implementing over 100 Forrec projects in countries around the world, including Canada, the US, Italy, Russia, Hungary, China, Iran, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Lithuania.
With over fifteen years of experience in planning, architecture and interior design, John brings a dynamic balance of passion and rigour to each project. He is an inspirational project manager with a hardy attitude and extensive experience in all phases of design, from developing a shared vision at the concept stage to overseeing construction work.
John has been key to many significant retail and entertainment projects locally and internationally. These include: The VIP club at Roger’s Center,The CN Tower Edgewalk Experience, The Holt Renfrew Centre Lobby and the Hard Rock Café in Toronto, Canada; the Vortex Entertainment Centre and Food Court at The Mall of Arabia and Attalah Happyland, both in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia; the Navy Pier master plan, Chicago, USA; and the Thousand Islands Casino, Ganonoque, Canada.
John is a Canadian citizen with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Waterloo. He is an active member of the Ontario Association of Architects, the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions and the Themed Entertainment Association.
John, the father of two exceptional boys, is also a skilled pool player with the annoying habit of making the game look easy.
